In my world, you never sleep in. There are rarely any leftovers. You can find all sorts of surprises underneath the couch cushions. Baby talk is the norm.

My kids are awesome. They're smart. My kids are also very, very weird.
I'm the writer here at "Mommy's Castle." You can call me Emily. I'm also known as Emilia in the blogosphere. Either name is fine with me.

I'm a 25-year-young stay-at-home mom, housewife, learning coach, maid, nurse, chauffer--you name it, I do it. I'm the one that keeps it all together.
How about some random facts?
- Astrology is kinda my thing. I'm a Capricorn, by the way.
- I'm a major homebody.
- I hate when my hands are dry. I have about 6 dozen tubes of lotion scattered around my house.
- Sweet tea is kind of an addiction. And energy drinks. Guilty pleasures.
- I like to observe. I'm often very quiet, especially when I'm taking things in.
Moving along now...
Did I mention that I have awesomely weird children? And that we've given them weird nicknames? They even have theme songs. Yes, you read right. My kids have theme songs.

Carter is my rambunctious one. He is an incredibly intelligent child with a high energy level. I e-school him through K12, as he is an advanced learner and had become bored with the activities at his brick-and-mortar school. He is currently practicing Pangai-Noon karate. He loves to learn, loves to read, and loves to laugh. He is weird, as you will find out by reading my blog. He takes pride in his weirdness. <3

Ireland is the baby. She is the complete opposite of Carter. She has a relatively laid-back energy level, although she loves attention. She's an explorer, always checking things out on her own, learning as she goes. She loves her brother, food, and music. She is just as weird as her brother (she learns from the best). <3

As mentioned earlier, I am also a wife. I'm happily married to a hard-working, hilarious, intelligent, and weird man. He is the love of my life.
*Pst* I love him more when he does the dishes...
Justice and I have been together for 8 years, and have been married since 2010. I couldn't think of a better way to have spent nearly the last decade than with his weird self. <3
We embrace our weirdness 'round these parts, as you can see.
About Blogging
I've always been interested in having a place of my own on the internet. When I was 17, I started a beauty website. I kept it running for about a year before I moved on to focus on freelance writing.
From 2008 to 2011, I wrote for various online media outlets to make money. At the end of 2010, I started working on my own ideas for a blog to help others earn money like me.
I launched my first blog, Freelance Lady, in January 2011. The blog focuses on legitimate work-at-home jobs, freelance tips, and different ways to earn money online. The blog is still up and running today.
In January 2014, I created "Mommy's Castle." I felt that Freelance Lady had more of a serious/businesslike tone. I wanted something a bit more personal--something geared toward my life as a mother and a housewife--and that's how I got here! Who knows what the future will bring?
